Too darn warm

It's been 5'c for the past 3 days. It doesn't snow anymore in Vancouver, coz it's too warm and it only brings rain here in the lower mainland. Home is really never the same after you leave. It also looks smaller too.

I went to work this morning at 7:30, thought I start my shift at 8:30, however, I don't start until 13:30. Sucks doesn't it?

Alternatively, I went to have breakfast with doug at the diner. First time in two years have I had a nice Westender breakfast with dry crispy bacon and fluffy blueberry pancakes. Went down to HSBC, sorted my new pin number. I couldn't believe it took only 5 minutes to get it all sorted at the counter. Back in Britain, it could have taken 2 weeks just for a new sort code!! Straight off, we made an appoinment at the customs office to pick up my parcel which I have sent from Britain 2 months ago. Finally, Doug and I headed in to Winners, (those in the UK, it's kinda like TK Max), to look for some Christmas decors. I found some nice shoes, but I want to wait till my pay cheque comes out.

It's been a good day at work, sold 18 items, including 2 pairs of Columbia ski gloves to two Aussie ladies. Craziness, I spoke to them about the Walkabout Australian Bar in Covent Garden in London. She knew exactly what I was talking about!!

Starting over

Sunday, December 4th,overcast.
I went to the orientation at Coast Mountain Sports in the Pacific Shopping Centre, later on I went to have dinner with Doug and his friend from Toronto, Louis. On my way down to Granville Street, I ran in to Lucia, whom I worked with in Ellis Brigham in London about a year ago. Apparently, she and her boyfriend are living on Bute Street in downtown Vancouver. They came across some harsh time on the first few days of arrival in the city.

Still hunting for a home around North and West Vancouver.

Started snowing a bit this morning, and then slushing again. It's cold around here alright, but not cold enough.

Stage 2

Paid a visit to my godfather, Doug, who lives in downtown Vancouver. I had to get my parcel from England sorted. We were walking around the Pacific Centre, and out of curiosity, I went in to Coast Mountain Sports to see if they were hiring at the momment. I probably picked them on the right time, they were looking for a lot of new staff so desperate, they interviewed me 2 hours after I submitted my resume.

I spent about 15 to 20 minutes in the office for the interview, and it was a nice casual talk with the manager, just about anything that happend in my gap year in the UK. The manager sat there quietly and read my profile for a few seconds. Then he said "You know what, we're just going to hire you."

4 days back in to town, I got a job. Not Whistler, however, it's still my area of interest.
